I was thrilled to have won an award for all of my entries, including GOLD in the Wedding creative category which captured the story of Alysha and Matts day.

Of course Oma makes the very best Speculaas and so I joined her in making just a few of her quota and captured the process.

Beyond the white sand beaches and crystal clear waters is a land of lush jungle and gorgeous smiling people. The markets were a photographers paradise with bright fresh produce and local handicrafts.

The pace of life is easy, and although you can get almost everything you need on the island, is wonderful to see no fast food chains or big corporates.

As well as the children, I fell in love with the local dogs. They were all so friendly, gentle and gorgeous.

A few tips for visiting the main island, Efate: not to be missed are are Mele Cascades, Blue Lagoon and Eton Beach. Snorkling, locals know the best spots. Local markets in Port Vila. Touring around the island and stopping at points of interest such as coconut oil factories and beach huts on pristine beaches. WW2 “museum” in Tanilou Village, collector Earnst will give you a presentation like no other, an absolute treasure.

I compete in dog agility and this provides the opportunity to travel and capture moments that would otherwise be missed.

One advantage ( perhaps the only advantage? ) of getting up at 5am is that I was able to witness the brief but gorgeous sunrise.

Thank you to my models who took time out from the competition arena to work it for the camera instead; Sonic, Pippi, Molly, Clutch, Indy, Cruz, Bry and Jess you are super stars!

The sound of the lone trumpet playing The Last Post is always incredibly moving.

Based in Matarangi we also visited stunning New Chums Beach and hit the Keltic Fair in Coromandel Town.

He was in brilliant form and took out a convincing win to hang up his gloves on a high.

She was treated to a gold and lace themed brunch, a surprise visit by a friend all the way from London and wine tasting at  Man O War  vineyards on Waiheke Island (highly recommended!). Can’t wait for the wedding!
